Humans also eat and hunt for fun, so then wouldn't we also be looked at as "demons"? If the animals we slaughter, cows for example, had the same kind of brains as us, then we would be the demons to them. The demons are still a living thing, it's not like they deserve to go extinct for trying to survive. Yes their way of surviving is not ideal, but thats why Emma is trying to figure out a way for them to also find a way of living that doesn't involve the killing of humans. And as you saw in the previous chapters, not all demons are bad. They work and provide for their families as we do. Emma saw that, which is why she doesn't want them to go extinct.
