If it's all a simple matter of pheromones, then the story is definitely devoid of any content. Jan will never understand if what he feels for Jamil is love or not, and Jamil ended up in the hospital unnecessarily. Disappointing story.

But he just realized jamil didn't put the whammy of pheromones on him like the lion guy is currently doing...that means his feelings were real

And this is even worse, don't you think? ... Jan could have stopped, but instead he continued and there was not a moment when he said at least a single and banal no. I understand the argument that Jan is not used to loving and that in the end he doesn't even know what love is. And I understand the fact that probably the lion's pheromones have acted on him, but there is also the discourse of will power, a force of will that Jan has not even tried to extract. There is a specific point where the lion asks him if he wants to have sex with him and Jan responds "you're out of mind", but the lion (and rightly) answers that some things shouldn't come out of the mouth of someone who wants to enlarge the legs with another guy since his boyfriend is hospitalized, and at that moment what does Jan do? Instead of remembering Jamil and sending the other to get fucked? Nothing ... it simply says: this is bullshit! You're the one who seduced me. So would this be the great feelings that Jan feels for Jamil?
There are two types of people ... the honest and the lecherous dishonest who clings to every kind of excuse to behave badly, and for now Jan (to my great regret) fits perfectly into the second list.
I'm sorry for this long poem, but the last chapter really disappointed me.

My point was jan's will couldn't win out against the lion's pheromones and as a human he is much weaker and couldn't fight him off physically ALSO Jan's realization at how compellingly intense the lion's pheromones were and that Jamil never subjected him to that meant what they felt for each other was real. It makes it sadder that he can't fight his body's need for sex RIGHT NOW.

I guess I perceive the pheromone whammy as a kind of hypnosis that lulls the higher brain functions to sleep and makes you proritize the lower, lustful brain and body functions...when I look at it this way I can be more forgiving of Jan
