In the novel, she actually kneels and begs him to believe her, but he wouldn't, writes a check, calls her a whore and basically tells her to gtfo. She's devastated but does so. This novel is just horrible, made my blood boil on countless occasions, especially when he would constantly say he forgave her, reminding her of the past - which he promises to let go, multiple times. Also, overall she's a pushover and let's him string her along which is just stupid. I think I liked the previous one in the series better. Bryony is so strong compared to this stupid doormat.
She forgave him too easily. He felt guilty only for a few pages, that's not enough ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ
But oh well, it's a Harlequin comic, what can we ask for? ┑( ᐛ )┍
