i think it's because despite being the same body rowan feels like a different person so she's not used to him yet to just receive his affections normally, even more so if you compare how he treated her right after starting to regain control of himself [he was really rude and agressive]...i think that must feel like knowing twins...even though they look the same they feel [as they should] different so you wouldn't treat both exactly the same
