Same here. Tho im not sure yet if thats really the reason here but I totally get what youre saying.
Like its more comfortable being the odd one out in a group of foreigners because being the person that came from a different culture, its a given that you're abit different so its fine . but when you're the odd one out in a group who, by all appearances should share the same culture as you, it just feels as if you're a bad guy because how dare you forget your roots.
Yep, but hasn't he just arrived from Korea, though? I tought he'd be fluent 'cause he was born and raised there, and is just avoiding it because of... reasons.
The whole thing of not interacting with people of his same culture/enthicity is relatable in a way I hadn’t expected to read about in a bl. Like the pressure to be fluent in your native language and the shame you feel when you aren’t completely fluent and surrounded by people who are so you feel better talking to and hanging out with people outside your culture/ethnicity. This is nice to see and hope that the characters and story continue to develop
