I’m pretty sure that many will disagree with my point of view about the sexual assault.
It was obviously not really necessary for it to be implemented on the story, there are several other drama things that could have been put instead of the sexual assaults, but the author chose not to. That was their choice, and it’s their manga.
I’m mad at Kaji for even trying to hurt my baby Haruki, but I think it’s all just like a cry for help. Kaji himself told us that he had to do even worse things so he could have some money, and without Ugetsu he would be homeless basically, and he had all that pain stuff going on with Ugetsu, I’m pretty sure Kaji would have been a better person if there were different conditions. He realized that he had to change his ways and that the way that he was living at that moment was the worst, and thankfully at least he realized that what he had done to Haruki was not something good, instead of just letting it pass since he knew that Haruki likes him. He redeemed himself and let Haruki be as angry as he wanted, until Haruki started to let go of the anger. In the end, he wanted to change for Haruki, that’s why he quit the jobs and broke up with Ugetsu, because he realized that the best times of his life were with Haruki, and how Haruki will always be there for him, not like Ugetsu who brought different boyfriends every time. I think the sexual assault shouldn’t be the main point of Kaji and Haruki’s relationship, instead how Kaji was in pain and needed help but didn’t know how to ask for it.
I know some things I said might be weird, maybe because this is the first time I’m reading the manga, and some parts, mostly the relationship between Ugetsu and Kaji, confused me the most because I just didn’t get Ugetsu at all, like why would he gets lots of boyfriends but still be together with Kaji? Anyways I’m watching the anime soon and I’m so excited to see the fluff between Mafuyu and Uenoyaka aaaaaaa
