Pretty much alpha dude and beta dude were colleges. Beta dude did a better job on the projects and therefore got a job offer, which would be otherwise alpha dude's. Plus apparently every omega the alpha dude was interested in, were into beta dude. So for taking revenge on beta dude for "destroying" his career and his love life he bounded with omega dude and took away beta dudes job by letting him transfer.
