In the beginning, I felt as if I got thrust into a story that started in the Middle. As a reader, I had no idea about the character development or details of the setting, and the only clues I got came in flashbacks of the MC's past. Then all of a sudden you find out she's a princess but actually not a pure blood princess who was also in an arranged marriage with some dude who betrayed her... But oh! this is actually her 2nd life cuz she reincarnated?! Not only that she's a reincarnated VETERINARIAN who got reborn as a slave so she's like, smart? And the Male Lead (ugh don't get me started on this ML) he keeps complaining that humans are evil, disgusting, and cruel when the first thing he did when he saw the MC was to threaten to kill her. And that BLONDE PRINCESS (Alicia was it?) she spat on his face and I was like hell yeah girl! But oh no they threatened to have some "fun time" with her and she begged to be killed instead (Idk maybe she was a bitch to the MC in the past, but how are us readers supposed to know that? We weren't given a backstory) Ok. And the amount of scenes of the ML showing off his hot bod and hinting that he's gay (not that I'm complaining tho if he was, actually I would approve) BUT I DONT UNDERSTAND ANYTHING. It's just so hard to sympathize with her character's sadness, fear, or bravery. There's so many things... But imma breathe.
