It really depends on the person and the persons body type aswell it also depends on what foods your eating. If you are on a diet you may have a light period like you described
That can also often happen when people have low levels of iron in their blood. You might want to get a blood test just to check that all your levels are normal (⌒▽⌒)
If it's very light, it's more like some spotting than period. If it lasts more than 2 months in a row, i'd recommend talking to a doctor. Spotting and skipping a month or two is pretty normal if you're young.
