@Leta Cent. I disagree, but that's because I disagree with this push for censorship. We want to pick and choose what we show in the entertainment industry, but where is the line and who decides it? I mean, if we're going down this road, you could say showing sex at all is unnecessary in literature and media. And I'm sure you can find "a ton of studies" to show that over exposure to sexual content leads to an increase in deviant behaviour. Especially when have young kids reading manga on a free access site like this... Perhaps there's also "a ton of research" that supports the rise in STDs and teen pregnancies, and the easy access to sexuallly graphic content. In that respect, perhaps we should get rid of things like yaoi and smut all together... Again, where is the line and who draws it?

Last I checked, there is no recognized study or statistical data that conclusively supports a connection between rape in literature and entertainment, and the creation of more rapists. Also, what statistical data or valid studies do you have that support the claim "violent video games make people more violent?" I'm interested to see them, because simply stating, "there is tons of research proving such" doesn't prove it. There might be tons of research, but are they valid studies? What agencies conducted these studies? How many test subjects did they use? How long were these studies done for; and how many studies have been done since to validate those findings? I don't work in the vague, nor do I put stock in generic statements like, "tons of research." I believe none of what I hear and half of I see. And where did you read that the U.S. entertainement industry is minimizing rape, even in porn? That's an article I would love to read.

Lol, I'm of the same line of thought, but I can see the value in conducting studies like that. It's better than taking an opinion and trying to make it fact.
