You're kinda right. I think, on both sides are a lot of misunderstandings. Director doesn't think highly of him and he doesn't think highly on the director.
There is only one thing, I really think the director is a dick. When it comes to the Sex he did imply he would look again on the project. And why not. He could have said: "I didn't promise to accept your project, but I will look at it."
I mean, that guy did absolutely EVERYTHING for him to look at the project again. EVERYTHING. He could at least worship that.
He's more of a hypocrite, really. If he despises bribery so much, why go through with something the other party thought was a bribe? He so hates the kind of attempt the uke made he had sex with him to show how much? Please.

It was a character test, and in reality as he admitted he went too far because he was heartbroken and drunk. He would never choose them because of the sex, but apart from all that he saw that their work was excellent. He has work ethics. And chill out, it is consensual adult sex. He did not still his honor and now the poor uke will not get married. Some people still live in the middle ages
I totally agree with you and if you check my previous posts I wrote the exact same thing. The seme was drinking after the breakup and the uke appeared in front of him. The seme thought that the uke was a "will do anything for work " kind of type and baited him. If the uke was smart and experienced he would politely refuse and ask for a second chance and gain the upper hand. But he is naive, stupid (sorry he is ) and inexperienced and agreed to something that made him look lecherous and vulgar. The director then decided to give him a lesson (well and something else) but when he read the actual proposal he saw a very good work. So beside the fact that he did not like the representative of the team and his ways (we know he is a good and inexperienced guy, he does not) he sees that they are the best candidates for the work. So he push the deal while not wanting to have any more contact with the uke. I read stupid comments like "why did he had sex?" as if we are in the 1920 and he took his virginity and now the poor uke will not find a husband, or as if the uke though that they were in love... "why he was like that at sex" a comment in a yaoi site were semes most of the times in first time rape or thrust the uke like that. And he was gentle (but condescending) and did not physically harm him, but of course he showed his opinion for the uke. Too many 12-15 year olds I am afraid ....
I think of the seme as an asshole nit because of the sex, but because of the attitude during the act. If I remember correctly it was pretty harsh an without tact. (I'm not talking about the preparations)

i see people calling the seme an asshole and i am so confused. let's recap, seme gets dumped by his girlfriend, decided to drink and wallow in his loneliness, soon-to-be uke comes up to him with a WORK proposition during seme's PRIVATE hours. seme indulges in sex but does not allow the shady bribery of sex. afterwards, seme considers uke's proposal in the end despite previous encounter because it is genuinely good for the company.
which part of that makes the seme a dick??? if anything, i would be angry if the seme picked the project BECAUSE of the sex. that would mean that he did not see the true value of the app they created and probably blackmail the uke for more sex.
don't get me wrong, i love the uke and his determination to submit their work after experiencing technical difficulty during the presentation but I do not want another typical "if-you-dont-have-sex-with-me-I-will-make-sure-your-development-team-loses-all-privileges" cliche yaoi trope. no maam.
