Tell me

I have frequently expressed my abhorrence for Nam's teacher (In-Hun),
but how much of you genuinely like him or don't mind him?
I only like him in the stand-point that he helps develops the story and every story needs some sort of antagonist/ and he helped my baby to read and write.
I haven't seen ONE positive comment made about him so far... what do you think???
Why do you surprisingly like him as a character?

Hm, I suppose I don't really like him because we already have had a few glimpses of his true nature. For one, he manipulates Na-kyum by forcing him to not paint (just because he doesn't like sodomy; so he can be seen as a bit of a homophobe). *And we can confirm Na-kyum is clearly gay so for him to even crush on his teacher is just a hard oof*
Sir In-hun is very selfish (all for self gain) in getting a government job and to be up there with the nobles. (He also thought it is a waste of time to even teach those kids how to read and write because they are low farmers). He also out up a front which automatically tells me he isn't trustworthy in any shape way or form. But that's just me.

While he hasn't technically done anything yet, he is clearly not a good guy.

Through the story revealed thus far, The Shady Teacher has been shown to be someone who sees himself as smarter than everyone else. A person whose "gifts" have not been appreciated. In the latest raws we already see how he deeply resents what Yoon has and compared it to himself. He think he is more worthy of Yoon's status than Yoon who is a vulgar sodomite.

The Painter's best source of income were those erotic pictures. As he said, "I painted those to survive". Did the teacher care or even bother to find out why Painter was making those? No. He was just like, "Eeeewwwww. Gross. Yaoi porn? Ugh. What's wrong with you?"

He clearly knows how much sway he has over the kid. Did he care that by shaming the kid out of painting the erotic he was essentially forcing the kid into severe poverty? Nope. Didn't seem to give two shits about that.

Again, he knows Yoon is a sodomite. He knows the kid paints Sodomy. Yet he still shames the kid out of painting when he clearly suspects that's why Yoon lets the kid lives there. Does he care at all about the consequences? Nope.

I understand his concern for the kid's welfare with Yoon around, but that doesn't seem to be what the teacher cares about at all. The teacher doesn't offer any solution or even try to understand the situation. He's just "Don't paint porn".

Um... are you that dumb? Can't you see what situation Yoon has the kid in? Like how can the Painter not paint for Yoon?

Teacher probably thinks he the smartest guy ever because he was the most educated in that rural village. His ego got inflated. But now that he's on Yoon's estate his education is mediocre at best. And smarts? Oh, he's playing with the big boys now.

All true and on point. Let me add that he looks down on Yoon but has no problem accepting his help to get a govt office. He lacks morals and ethics. Remember he was only going thru the motions of educating kids...it is a wonder Nam Baek learned to read/write
