Yes, youβre right it is a bit over the top but I think the author intended to write it that way bc she's using it as a metaphor to portray how stupid and unreasonable people can be for being prejudice against homosexuality.
The author said that she would've written certain things differently if she had known about the English translation before writing it. It was meant to speak to people in Asian countries, not the those who live in the West.

I think that dark heaven was accurate in some aspects but the depiction of other minorities was ridiculous I understand the thing going on between the hate groups because my people have suffered through it the most, however, these are the things people actually go through but I didn't like the light that certain people were shown in I felt like they got their information about it from the media like greed lust and stupidity was inaccurate and I feel like you should know what your writing about before you write it but other than that the manga was good and I felt the emotion through the characters
