Yes, that make the development much more natural instead of both denying each other feeling until the confession.
I know right? Might be the first manga of this genre that does this or at least that I've read.
It's not the first manga i read like this, but usually the other manga i have seen that were like this always had other peoples get in the way or troubles appearing out of nowhere to prevent them from confessing to each other.
They're not entirely denying their affection for each other, so it's not that awkward between the two where they assume the other has no interest whatsoever for the other. What I'm also surprised about is the continuity, usually manga such as this one have small time skips from chapter to chapter instead of following the story from the previous one.
