Not every monster, but those too close to villages or powerful one have to be dealt with or they might attack villages. It’s sad I agree.

I know, this goblin didn't look dangerous, and looked kike he is was trying to run away... also, unlike goblins in all other mangas, he never attacked first!!!
But sadly, Angel is right, they have no idea if this goblin is a danger for the children and people of the village, specially in a world where goblins are dangerous, so it is better to eliminate it!!!
It is like you found a nice lion near your home...
If you want evil goblins watch Goblin Slayer. The warnings at the beginning about disturbing content are serious though. It's a really good anime if you can get through the first episode.
Mmh yes, goblin slayer is an excellent one.

Is it just me or that goblin's expression looks too intelligent and human-like. It looks like it fears them and thus, being alert. What a pitiful goblin. It makes me think: Do those humans have to eliminate every monster they meet just because they are monsters? At least draw the goblins to look evil so I won't feel bad! （/TДT)/
