Love the plot!

Can we appreciate the writing! The pacing is really good, not too rushed but not so slow that all of the readers are frustrated. In a lot of stories, the side couples, at least to me, don’t feel like an actual important part of the plot. It’s like the characters are pushed together by force and no reason after the real story is losing steam, like the relationship is completely unnecessary and end up adding nothing to manga/manhwa or even taking away from the appeal of the story. I really appreciate how the “side” characters (especially Jihye) were introduced as their own separate individuals with real personalities, and because of their excellent implementation into the story, it doesn’t seem like they’re just there for the sake of dating another side character. I also like how it’s obvious Gyoon liked Jihye since pretty much the beginning, so that when/if their relationship starts to take off, it doesn’t feel too forced or rushed. I wish Here U Are’s pacing was a bit more like this. I love the story regardless and understand the author wants a slow burn, but I really just fell in love with how Sign is flowing so far.

It all comes down to planning. In other webtoons, side couple may seems out of place or forced because author initially didn’t plan for them to happen, or did it poorly. You don’t see this often in manga because most published works have an editor who sits down with author to discuss the direction they want to go and give recommendations.
