Idk much but dating is a modern way of casually seeing someone who might / might not be seeing someone else . But going out means you guys are exclusive and are not seeing anyone else
you can date w/o being a couple. it's just a special day for both. even platonic friends do date.
it is different if you are referring to the term "dating" which is another word for going out.
As already mentioned by takame ~ you can go on a date, like with a friend, a sibling, a parent or relative. A special day that you spend with someone. When two people are "dating", this usually means they are in a relationship, which is more than friendship. often times, when a couple are "dating', its "exclusive', a special relationship between just the 2 ~ a bf/gf thing... or bf/bf, or gf/gf... er, you get the picture, right?

Uhmm... guys this is a topic that I can only discuss with you guys. So uhmm... when you say "date" does it mean you to are a couple already or what...??? And is "going out" the same as date?
