Rubbed Me the Wrong Way

I'm pretty lenient with manga, a lot of things I read don't bother me near as much as those same things would in real life, but I just can't do incest. That is where I draw the line, and that scene where the younger sister compared her incestuous feelings for her brother to Touma's love for Takaya REALLY BOTHERED ME.
I understand the intention was to compare two types of forbidden feelings/love (at least, for homosexuality in the Japanese society), but come on, there is a huge difference to being romantically attracted to a blood-related family member and being romantically attracted to someone of the same sex.
It reminded me of when same-sex marriage was being debated in my country and some people would trot out the stupid argument, "Oh, if we let gays get married, then what's next, people marrying animals?"--I mean, are you fucking kidding me?
Okay, take a deep breath, rant over. (▰˘◡˘▰)

You are correct but the issue was not to compare the 2. The girl knew that there was no way her love will be fulfilled but that does not stopped her. The result is certain because a) he is her blood brother b) he is gay. But she simply didn't care to stop fighting, even if she knew how it was going to end. And she is angry because in Touma's case the end is not certain, but he is afraid.

    Thank you for the reply!
I tried in vain to relocate the scene so I could read it from your understanding of it, but my laziness got in the way. To be honest, I don't normally comment on the work about the things that bothered me with it, but this one came on too strong for me to reign myself in, so I thank you for taking the time to offer your different interpretation.
I think it's great how this website allows us to have interaction with other members to discuss the works!
