Art is meant to be critiqued

Critique =engagement. It means people are interested and passionate about understanding story. It means people are paying attention and not just passively looking. Its possible to critique something you actually really like. This is a good story but it could be a great story. There's nothing wrong with saying that some things in a story just aren't working. I think part of the issue is that it feels like wasted potential. If a story starts out amazing but overtime gets worse its unrealistic to expect people not to notice or care. Especially when its obvious what's going wrong. A once great story that gets a little lost can with constructive criticism easily become a great story again. It's important that people understand that criticism of a work =/= criticism of a person. Learning how to give and to accept constructive criticism is important for personal growth. Nothing ever gets better when we pretend there are no problems at all. I am not helping or hurting the writer by voicing these opinions on mangago. The comment section is a platform for readers to comment on the work. What is the point of all of us disingenuously pretending there are no issues with the story?

Personally, its clear to me that the current couple doesn't have the same chemistry as our first couple and waiting so many weeks for resolution sucks. Very little seems to happen in the chapters that focus on the new couple. If you asked me to summarize what happened in this chapter I'm not sure I could. I'm not very interested in the basic tsundere uke archetype, it's cliched. Also we barely know anything about uncle pan so I find him unrelatable. Overall the second couple feels more generic and boring. (I also don't care for large age gaps but this is a lesser complaint). I'd much rather know about the main characters who are better written, because they are more complex and their relationship is more unique, nuanced, and romantic. I am way more invested in their story while I couldn't care less for the second couple.

I shouldn't have to ignore this story's problems just because other stories are worse, because there are also stories that are better. Don't fault us for being disappointed it currently isn't one of the better ones. We are still here because we are hoping it will be again soon.

True and while I feel like the main couple could be progressing... the introduction of the second couple drags it. Because we’re going over 80 chapters emotionally invested in their story and I really don’t mind the slow burn, y’see.

But to add a second couple makes you wonder if they’re also going to take 80+ chapters for THEIR story and it adds something extra to wait even longer for when the other one isn’t even done yet. Because at this point we’re invested in the first two after so so long, but then we also have to start emotionally investing in TWO MORE for another potential 80+ chapters... it wasn’t the best time to add them in.

Agreed. I say add them in when the first couple is mainly resolved and the readers are desperate for it not to end, even if it continues with a new couple.
