It wasn't as much of an issue 5-10 years ago. Back then, most BL found here was only available in Japan & the two biggest English tranlsators/publishers were SuBLime and June (who released new content very irregularly). There were very few comics legally available for English readers. So, it was a moral/legal grey area.
But with sites like Renta releasing dozens of translations for their digital service, several other manga/comic publishers releasing BL stuff, and Korea's webtoon boom (which came with several legal English sites), the issue's become more prominent in the last few years.
And weirdly that has led to more arguments on sites like this over how the free & illegal services are being offered to readers. Go figure that as more options were given to us, readers became ruder and pickier about the free stuff.
Well usually when you reading it for free you could expect it to be illegal. Even watching Anime for free is illegal. ( ̄∇ ̄")
Yet we all still here reading for free in spite knowing that it's illegal ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Wish I was rich then I could buy everything that I want. It's already expensive keeping my Internet running #-.-)
Is waiting for the original translation to be uploaded so bad? OK, it takes a little longer to come out and not everyone, including myself, can't read Korean/Japanese/Chinese /etc... Though I never would've thought I'd been reading illegality uploaded mangas... I feel sick just knowing about it...
