The more chapters she publishes the longer she gets paid by the site. The for free sites usually pay their authors per chapter and then they get a little bit more when it ends up being popular (has many likes and views) but once their story is finished they usually don't earn much with it.
That's where the accusation is coming from, because in DJun's case releasing more chapters also means getting paid for a longer time.
I’m not informed by the way dongman manhua runs their site but if that’s the case, I doubt they’re doing this just for a cash grab. I’d rather not accuse someone without proper facts.
Right, when I meant ‘they’ I meant the author and not the site. I seriously don’t know what’s the rush. I’m not invested in any of the couples so I’m not as impatient as all the rest when it comes to LiHuan and YuYang. I can read it leisurely without whining like a little kid. Can’t they just leave this story and come back in a couple of months? It’s not that hard to wait.
Well, to be fair, it's not like she would tell her fans that she's dragging the story to earn more money if that was the case.
The people in charge of the site definitely want her to make the story as long as possible, but what exactly her motivation is (money, contractual obligations, literary decision or whatever) is something we will probably never find out (unless she talks about it when it's finished but that's highly unlikely).
Lots of writers are doing this now. It’s working my nerves. And DJun suuure is enjoying pulling us along, all wrapped around his pen, but that’s how you lose readers. Slow burns are good but become even MORE frustrating when you decide to add extras, beating around 10 bushes (lookin’ at you BL Motel) but really, just how important are those extras to the actual plot??? It was good then because we all felt that anxious thrill, but now it’s just leg tapping, yada-yada-yada, get a move on already progress. I sure hope that we soon see something between the main MCs because we are all here for that. We support the side couples, honestly the third one just feels forced, but it’s 89 chapters in and all of this is just a ploy for money. Money is good, honey, but if you ain’t got readers, kiss it goodbye. NOW, can we give our MCs some lovin’ for the love of all things BL!!!
