I think salmail is supposed to be Somalia (very similar spelling) and the majority of Somalia folks r Muslim! So it checks out!
as a muslim i really think that the wedding scene is pretty much resembles islamic wedding (at least in my country, idk about others)!
i'm very delightfully surprised that the author is very in-depth with that scene. omg even the king's outfit at the wedding is pretty spot-on...... (ω ) ~♪
