"Sure he said he what he said" don't you think your being rather dismissive? he threatened her, poisoned a bunch of people working under him needlessly and didn't take her feelings into account on multiple occasions and then he wonders why she looks so uncomfortable around him. try to put yourself in HER shoes, not his. it seems like the only thing you need to make a male character sympathetic is to have him lusting after a female with the pretext that "the ends justify the means because of love" well. It doesnt.
I would forgive him nonetheless nothing more or nothing less.

He did some bad things to her because he thought, she was just like the other humans. He realized, he was wrong and tried to correct his past mistakes. Aren't you forgetting that the people he's evil to are spies, hoping to one day be able to kill him?

No one is overlooking at it. Everyone was pitying him a few chapters back but still called him an arse the difference is that he at least tries to make up for it. He apologized, got ride of the people who sold her to get her freedom, is letting her take classes since she can't get her old life back, said that if she wants to leave she is free to go, ECT. He is doing a lot to make for what he did yes maybe it's still not enough but if anything what he did wasn't romanticized or ignored which why like the characters we are moving on to. The girl is still worry of him but even said she doesn't havw to give herself to please him and is still trying to forgive him and if she can then so can we.

Travis is being thoughtful towards his crush Areum. Sure he said he what he said, but now he is warmly up to her and truly wanted her to be at peace. With the others he the same, but with her, he is a lovable person who truly thinks of what's best for her.
