Yeah I thought so too and not only that I think he was/is still powerful being
We have yet to see his full powers I guess at this point
Indeed who knows he will be a sort of saint/godly being
He met that beast more than 500 years ago, way before he was alive in this body. That means he's either a reincarnation of the first guy who inhabited their island or his soul entered the prince's body after he lost his ability to cultivate.
