did you actually read the story o.O he chose a to be a girl for a reason... and idk if you’ve ever actually played a video game/online games but you can’t just switch your gender as if it’s nothing, ones that give you that option (from what I’ve experienced) you can only play one character at a time (either your original Female Character or Male character) and your back to the very beginning with new files, you’ve basically restarted the game by creating a new character.
Well honey.. if you read from the beginning, he was hacked and disguised to conceal his previous identity. It’s how their love began in real life ok. But I don’t mind tho. Kirito also play girlish avatar in SAO GGO

what I’m saying is, if he created a new character he’d have to start all over, he’d have to “divorce” with his previous avatar to marry with his new one and do millions of other things, it’s a hassle and I see why he hasn’t.
