Yes and no. Lukas isn't using him the way it appeared at first. He wants Lemon to become commander he does everything to make that happen, but that's how most of the fae think. However, he actually cares about Lemon and only did all of those things to make sure that Lemon sees him as a friend which wasn't really necessary anyway.
So he realized that Lukas (and many other faes) planned for him to become commander but since Lukas didn't have any evil intentions they're still friends.
I know he has his own self as his best interest, but in the end, he's one of the best few friends that care for Lemon. And I'm happy for them like that.

I thought the end was great. She ended up with Lemon. Her childhood friend realized that she was in love with him (and Lemon with her) and then gave up on his own (he handled the situation very well).
She kept her frying pan (and various other kitchen tools) as a weapon until the end (the scene in which she holds a frying pan while lemon holds a whisk, ready to fight the fae is probably one of my favorite scenes of the entire webcomic).
It would've been nice to get a side story for her friend as well but that's just a small complaint from my side.
The story got surprisingly romantic at the end. Because of some trouble in the fae world, the time for the exams was curt short again and everything suddenly had to happen very quickly. Mira invited Lemon to a flower festival but they had to go there earlier because he had to leave. When they arrived they were alone, he made the flowers bloom, they finished the last test and then Lemon says a very heartfelt goodbye to her and then Mira finally told him to stay. He was transported back to the fae world nonetheless.
In the fae world Lemon finds out that he was always supposed to be the new commander, that everybody only sees his magic power and realized that this wasn't what he wanted and that Mira was the only one who saw him as the person he really is.
He ran away, back to the human world, trying to reach Mira before midnight (she would lose her memory of him at midnight if he didn't make it in time). That leads to chaos among the fae. Some try to find him, others stop the huge hour glass so that at least Lemon and Mira could have more time. They're successful and when Lemon meets Mira shortly after midnight, she still remembers him.
However, now they have control over Mira's memory and that's why Lemon agrees to come back and fight for them as a knight but only if he's allowed to visit Mira in the human world and if Lukas becomes the commander.
The two extras are about Lukas and his lady (he really had feelings for her and it was hard for him to leave her) and the current situation in the fae world. It ends with a short scene of Mira and Lemon on earth.
