I can't remember if it was an anime or manga, but it was about a tournament between all the sword schools (like God of high school but with sword fighting) to find out which one was the best and the MC comes from either a really depleted sword school or an abolished one (I forget which) but is super good and managed to defeat a lot of the other sword schools singlehandedly.
