I confuse at first but considering their personality it make sense
Honestly, still confused at who was meant to be who during the school time line.
1) Who was the short hair, glasses, introverted boy?: The current black hair man or long blond hair man?
2) Who was the long hair, blond, popular boy?: The current black hair man, or long blond hair man?
They both wear glasses and seem to be drawn quite differently to their younger days, hair etc changes, the continuity was a bit confusing on this part, but albeit the transition, glasses, hair dye etc seems more realistic than a static simplistic image... even if said simplistic image makes it easier for us dumb readers.
