I don't care either, I know how to separate a comic and real life. I don't get those who get offended, most of the time the title and cover makes it quite obvious for what you're about to read, so unless they're kids why act all shocked/dissapointed,and if they're kids then there's a reason it's 18+

Idk it's weird because sometimes I just cant stand them (gangrape shota etc) but other times I get so detached it doesn't bother me. Like I remember the good old days when I used to think boku no pico was wild but it doesnt even hold a candle to some of the shit I've seen these days. I even found myself revisiting boku no pico again and I didnt even mind it that much.

I feel like I act like diffrent people on diffrent sites. On Mangago I like fluff and dont like reading stories that trivialise sexual abuse and stuff. But then on sites like Myreadingmanga I find myself becoming a sexual deviant reading everything and anything to satisfy my curiosity and hornyness. I think it's got something to do with the atmosphere on each sites myreadingmanga is mostly anonymous and if you do find your self commenting theres not much to trace you back with. Mangago has a more community atmosphere.

Anyways to answer your question at the start I think it depends on the individual. If they have strong mental fortitude and is able to detach fiction from reality, amazing. But if they cant then we start getting into dangerous territory and the thing about the internet is we have no way of differentiating those individuals so theres not much we can do about it. I'd never agree to censoring those types of works because at the end of the day it's just art and people should be allowed to enjoy what the want (unless if what said above applies to them)

Like Grannygrans said, just separate it from reality. Even then it's okay to have a personal issue/preference with one of the aforementioned. Take me for example- I'm not the biggest fan of shota. However, I'm not gonna call someone a pedophile for liking it as long as they don't look up actual real life child porn in their spare time. And let's take the "rape plot" for example. I am a big advocate irl about rape culture and I participate in the #METOO movement, meaning I've been harassed in a sexual manner myself- but I also know that its a fucking manga, not real, and features events that would NEVER happen irl. Like who is going to walk into a classroom, find their senpai strategically sleeping in a scandalous way, tit exposed, then assault them, and get their senpai to fall head over heels in love with them all from rape? It's not realistic.

Moral of the story- separate manga from real life. Pretty simple.

Never said that, all I said is that if you like shota or occasionally read stuff with shota characters in it, that doesnt automatically make you a pedophile. That doesn't negate the fact that there are definitely pedophiles who read shota but the two things are not synonymous with each other

I have no issue with separating reality and fiction, though I myself don't like rape or dubious consent troupes. They just make me feel uncomfortable. On the other hand though, I've been shook by how well people actually separate reality and fiction - homophobic fujoshis are actually a thing. I completely people preferring different genres, even those I don't like, but I am so judging homophobics.

shota is a touchy subject for a lot of people and I think a lot of people in this community don’t enjoy it very much. but i will say that I think it’s going to be a part of the “yaoi” community because most of it come from japan. shota is ingrained so deeply into japanese culture because of their problems with child sexualization and prostitution. Authors like drawing it and there’s a lot of people who read shota and enjoy without letting it bleed into reality. i believe its not a major problem in the japanese community because they are exposed to it more than us. and because it was popular there, they brought it into the western market where its considered wrong. this is all from spectating and im not sure if its 100% right but its just what i think

I have seems thread on 4chan before they were talking about shota and most of them were pedophiles and said they like little boys and if you visit popular shotacon websites you will find the majority of audience are males, it's the same thing with lolicon, you think it's not wrong because this is a women site and most are probably just confused teenage girls who read porn for the lulz but it's a real issue it's child porn and pedophiles read it, they're pedos in real life, and read fictional cp. I don't know how the separate reality from fiction argument works in that case lol. It could even encourage predatory behaviour. I believe they read it because they don't have access to the real one. It's not a western social construct to think shotacon/lolicon is bad, IT IS bad.
