Yeah. Yashiro realizes just how much he loves Doumeki a couple chapters back in the clinic when he confesses he liked Kageyama and doc just said he pitied him. Yashiro wasn't scared of being rejected by the doc anymore cause he realized he wasn't in love anymore.

Doumeki also changed Yashiro's life for the better. I mean in the latest chapter, Yashiro doesn't even seem to have sex with anyone anymore (aside from the police officer, but that's just to get information). Yashiro also lied about forgetting Doumeki and pushed him away in order to protect him. I think you have to have a lot of love for someone in order to push them away and let them go.
That's just my take on it.

Hello!! I think Yashiro really loves Doumeki. Doumeki also loves him too much at point to be killed to protect Yashiro. This one is afraid to lose Doumeki once he is often hurt to save his boss. He also thinks Doumeki is a naive baby and deserves a good life. There's the reason why Yashiro put him out of yakuza.

Dude.....The only reason why he started to have feelings for Kageyama in the first place is because he was nice to him when no one else was, so it's not really really love... And then, the only reason he continued to "love" Kageyama for so long was because he KNEW it was a lost battle from the start, so in a way, he wasn't risking anything, he was just pining for someone, without having the courage to tell him and while knowing nothing will ever come out of it so there was no risk of getting hurt, abused, abandoned or anything of the sort. That's why he did all those things for Kageyama..he cared about him all while knowing he was "safe"
With Doumeki, however, things were different. Doumeki made no secrets about his interest in Yashiro, he devoted himself body and soul for him, and Yashiro felt totally weak against him BECAUSE he liked him back.. There was sexual attraction, there was understanding, there was passion and vulnerability, and there definitely were feelings involved. But, as most abuse victims would understandably react, he got scared and just wanted to get back to safety...hence the rejection, the running away and, maybe even the whole pretending he lost his memory thing (I'm still not sure if he did that because he wasn't able to open himself to Doumeki anymore than he already did or because he wanted Doumeki to get out of the criminal lifestyle and stop risking his life, maybe both?)...So yeah..Yashiro definitely loves Doumeki.

Nice post .Yashiro had his reasons for putting that mask back on in the hospital when he saw Dom. with his family. 1 that scene re enforces the feelings the that he may belong with his family of which Yas does not have a 'family".2 Yas has spoke often about his fear of rejection in the manga and his need to protect his heart. Yashrio is at war within his fears of loss( rejection, abuse, ) vs his love for Doumeki. Well written.
