I don’t agree with Beom

I know that spontaneous gay confessions are hard (and I agree that the girl is selfish and Hoyoung is an idiot),

But I just still can’t get over how Beom kind of made it like “Love me or leave me.” I get it that’s its hard to be in a position of unrequited love, but it’s also difficult to be on the other side where someone is like “if you don’t feel this way let’s cut ties”. I’d be so broken if a childhood friend said that to me.

From Beom’s POV, everything has been going on for a long time, but from the other side it is very sudden. I’m not saying Beom’s feelings aren’t valid but when you’ve felt something way longer than someone else has, you can’t just expect them to automatically fall for you in the same time. Or just say yes or no. Maybe for Minkyu, that was a method (bc he is a super idiot), but Hoyoung is the thoughtful type and doesn’t want to hurt Beom. He’s more focused on fixing things, even if in idiotic ways.

I know this manhwa will probably be cliche and they’ll end up together anyway, but it’d honestly be cool if they could find a way to mend their friendship. Like it’s totally okay not to love him back, ya know?

Exactly!!! I hated that Beom made it an ultimatum and while I understand that things wouldn't truly go back to the way they were, surely he should also understand that Hoyoung knew nothing about his romantic affections and that he genuinely considered him to be something like his brother. And I didn't like how this manhwa shows that the only thing that can exist between two people who've been so close to each other that they'll sorely miss the other person's presence in their life is romantic love. This is just invalidating Hoyoung's feelings and while I get that this is just a work of fiction, it's still wrong of Beom to have that mindset about this.

Yeah I get that too. I know it’s fiction as well, so I don’t want to get too heated, and I like Minkyu and Junhyung, but it’d be nice if this BL could’ve been different where the side friends’ feelings are valid but don’t necessarily have to be love. I feel for Beom and don’t want him hurting, but he also seems strong to the point where if he’s rejected I really think he would eventually be okay. It’s difficult to be in friend groups like this where one person has an ultimatum. Also your name cracks me up.

Beom did not force his feeling on Hoyoung. He did not expect anything. Hell, he was willing to hide them! But when your friend sets you up on a date with a girl not long after you confess and then slaps you when you tell them how you feel about it, a line was crossed so another one has to be drawn. Beom was not in the wrong nor was he selfish. Hoyoung and that girl were being toxic.
