I went back and read it again just to count the hands scenes, lol... definitely a chapter full of close ups on their hands.
I by no means do good analysis but this author seems to like analogies a lot... maybe the sequence means something? Like the flow of their relationship so far?
1. Taku grabs Haesoo's wrist and don't let him run away when Haesoo notices Taku has a guest.
2. Taku squeezing Haesoo's hand without looking at him while he sends his friend away ... this was such a couple thing to do, when you want to communicate in secret with someone.
3. Taku tending to Haesoo's finger wound and he doesn't let go afterwards, he just holds to it
4. Haesoo inner dialogue about Taku having warm hands ... and the warm heart comment. I don't know what Haesoo is saying here... is he afraid to get attached? or he means he is afraid to expect affection and not getting?
5. Haesoo pulls his hand out when he is thinking about that ...
6. Haesoo reaches out and grabs Taku hand and shirt and the surprise look on Taku's face that Haesoo is the one reaching out. ...
I'm a bit curious about the warm heart dialogue because it happens when Haesoo comments that Taku talks in tone devout of emotion but his hand/heart sounds warm ...and follows the comment of Taku saying that he cares for him and Haesoo feeling warm ( a lot of 'warmth' references in this chapter too) ... I think the author created Taku as a character that is the opposite of Haesoo.
Haesoo --- doesn't say what he feels; never talk straightforward but can't hide his emotions on his face. Someone who is perceptive can read him ( Joowon's dad, Taku ...)
Taku --- talks straight about what he is thinking or feelings but his emotions can't be read in his face, stoic. Either you take him for his words and actions or not.
Thanks for your reply :) I like stories like these because it makes the readers try to analyze the author's intentions.
The last part of your reply is something that could be true and I hadn't thought about it.
Haesoo tries to mask his emotions with withdraw, deceiving or dismissive words but his expressions always betray him for people who can pick up his bullshit.
Taku on the other hand is expressive in words, open and direct when he wants to be but always with a very collected and laid back demeanor in facial expressions. Then Haesoo trying to figure out if his heart is just as warm as his words/actions.
This author's story telling talent is really awesome.
I wish I was articulate enough to do an analysis of all the 'hands touching' scenes in this chapter.
There is something caring and intimate about two people communication through touching hands and I think the author included so many hands scenes on purpose... ( 6 or more?) maybe to show how close Taku and Haesoo are becoming ... or how much softer their relationship is?
Something the author wanted to say with all those hands close ups! What is it?
Someone who has the dibs with words, please do an analysis, lol.
