Came back to read this after so many years

I hate waiting for updates on ongoing mangas. I usually end up dropping them, even if they are good. But after several years and many updates (though still ongoing) Skip Beat never fails to amuse me. I think many good stories start off exciting and thrilling. But if they were exciting and thrilling throughout the whole series, we'd expect too much from the ending. I think having the story (and the developments in the relationships in the story) be this long is soooo much better than a short, quick, happy ending (for this manga). I don't think I would be satisfied with an ending with Kyoko and Ren together if they didn't go through a bunch of bs either. I'd also like to see Kyoko reconcile with Shou as childhood friends (although not completely that she wouldn't kick him every now and then) and I think the manga is somewhat leading towards that direction while also setting the stage for Kyoko and Ren's realization of their feelings towards each other (finally). I'm just as frustrated as other readers of the slow development but I definitely don't think it's something you should drop. It's possible finally starting to get to where we want it!

I think it can be safely said that Shou x kyouka have reconciled after he saved her from demon-stalker. It's gonna be a bit much expecting them to share tea and have best buddies moments.
They never had that kind of relationship before too.

At most they can cheer each other for their work (even now i think they do that- Kyouko tried to help him get over his slump and depression). I suppose only real progress left will be Kyouko stops disliking his visits and actually thanking him with a smile (▰˘◡˘▰)
