It wouldn't put my mind at ease. The prince/future emperor is an asshole. He doesn't deserve a happy ending nor does his wife that he chose over the MC. Given the same circumstances, he would do what he did in the previous life. I've read many reincarnation stories where the guy has an excuse for treating the girl that way, I even recently read a story about the woman (MC) being an evil bitch and her husband ended up loving someone else and killing her and when she reincarnated, she tried to be a better person and he ended up loving her...it made sense and even the character herself acknowledged that she deserved it because her evil deeds cost other people their lives .
But this is different, he was an asshole even before the other bitch appeared and humiliated her in the worst ways, killed her father and her ...she was not 1% evil yet he did all that with a smile on his face so no he does not deserve any amount of happiness
