I feel like its partly for aesthetics purposes. Also Chinese authors tend to drag their stories on and on, so don't expect them becoming couple any time soon.
My guess is also, that this is not authors only comic or only job so he probably can't spare much time like people working for lezhin for example.
Why does each chapter seem to move so slow? Like, it finishes in a blink???
There are hugeeeeeee white spaces between frames! I guess it is intended to set a slow pace for the story, or maybe author did it so that he doesn’t have to draw much for each chapter (haha sorry author...), but yeah that’s basically how a normally 3-5 pages of comic is stretched to the whole chapter. Btw I’m not complaining just sharing what I found ╮(￣▽￣)╭
