It was a short chapter without YuYang’s POV— hopefully we’ll get his perspective on the next or upcoming chapters! We dunno yet u:
Yeah, it would be character growth for YuYang, but it's not that simple to break cyclical negative feelings/ thoughts. YuYang doesn't believe that people, especially from guys who don't identify as gay, could ever truly love him; that it would end up like his previous relationship. Sure he trust that he can have friends, but any relationship that was closer (lovers or family) have all been awful for him as an openly gay person. From that thought process, of course he would push someone away who could actually truly love him because in the end he believes that he'll be left again.
I'm not saying he is right in his actions, but his past experience makes sense with his current actions. LiHuan can understand this sort of action since he also has a cyclical negative thoughts when people always thought he was a bad guy.
I don't understand...if you are already in a relationship then yeah both people need to work at it but right now they're not in one. Lihuan wants them to become a couple so the onus is on him to persue. Yuyang doesn't misunderstand anything at the moment. He knows lihuan likes him but he thinks it's a passing fancy bc lihuan outright told him he was not gay. My issue with YuYang is he could be in a relationship with a gay mate and it still might not last. We cannot predict the future in either scenario.
But... LiHuan is the one pursuing YuYang so obviously he gotta do more work, right? YuYang detests the idea of being together with LiHuan (temporarily and suffering another heartbreak later). YuYang doesn’t want them to end up together so he ran away; they are aiming for 2 different goals, not working together, so their acts don’t align. I believe it took a lot of mental power from him to lie to LiHuan about his true feeling. Simply because that doesn’t work towards the ending we are hoping for, it’s disregarded as an effort.
YuYang wants to be together with LiHuan, it shows in the earlier chapters, however he assumes it's going to end badly like his other relationships. So in order to save himself the pain, he wants to cut off their relationship before he falls even harder for LiHuan and save him the heartbreak if they would have dated and then ended it.
Yes, he could break up with other gay guys, but to them at least he wouldn't be a curiosity about how it would be like with another guy. And then get told women are better. That would be rejecting his whole self, body and personality, not just because personalities didn't work out between two people.
What I was aiming at is how yuyang was misunderstanding the girl thinking that she liked lihuan and how he thought lihuan would be much better off with her because she’s female. He already overcame the whole problem of thinking Lihuan only has a passing fancy on him in the earlier chapters and just continues to misunderstand because of his past, but I get it
Yes I totally understand all the pain and trauma yuyang went through in the past as someone who’s gay and how he would have a hard time recovering and everything, so it does justify his actions to an extent, I get it. I just thought it would be Great character development if he would try to communicate better or not run away from his problem and talk to lihuan. He just continues to make assumptions. But I know that’s a result from his cyclical negative mindset or whatever and that it’s not that easy but we have to see it someday from him in this webtoon or his character won’t have any depth.
Unpopular opinion maybe but I don’t like how it always has to be Lihuan being the one to put in effort to solve the misunderstandings. All Yuyang ever does is run away and never confront him or try to understand. Like I know he has been hurt in the past before but you can’t be continually making the same mistakes or you’ll never grow as a person. Idk I feel like for this misunderstanding, it should’ve been Yuyang to realize the truth but whatever
