Let’s be real, most of the people who are making weird complaints are either underage-children or uneducated people. People who think with emotions but not with the brain or rationally.
Honestly, I think that the thing that is most shocking to people, more so than the rape, is that despite being a woman, the Queen has no empathy towards the male lead. I guess that because the Queen comes with a vagina and a pair of titties, she was supposed to understand what it’s like to be a victim of rape, however, people are forgetting that this is a woman of privilege and power. She gets what she wants when she wants, and she doesn’t have to think of the consequences because she has palace full of people who will obey her every word. This webtoon might be a fantasy drama, but it displays one thing very well: historically, this is what happens to people who become “spoils of war”. I am not comfortable with the rape, but I can appreciate that despite the gender reversal, there is a sense of realism as far as the Male Lead’s situation goes. I cannot be surprised about his situation (anybody who knows a bit about history shouldn’t be), but I can root for him to get from under the Queen’s influence and gain back autonomy of his body.
