im a guy too. im reading yaoi and yuri these days because of their plots. And some unique stories others dont have. It is okay.
I actually prefer shounen ai to yaoi (that is, less sex, more romance). It's the romantic part--the struggle to love against the odds--that I enjoy. This story may have asshole behavior, but you still hang on waiting to see them work it out and fall in love deeply (which is the fun of it, the falling in love). For me anyway, that's where the payoff is. The emotional ride. I could care less if they leave out the dicks.
And that's the same reason I like shoujo, some josei, etc: the romance. I'm a sucker for a love story.
