What the above poster said. This is a korean webtoon. Koreans have their own culture with their own palace grounds, outfits, and customs. They also had emperors. I dunno much about Korea apart from that day tour I had a few months ago when I visited the country but I assume the author of this manhwa would know their own culture. You kinda look like an ass complaining about this tbh.
Excuse me?!? As an Asian, I am familiar with both China and Korea history and particularly grew up watching chinese and korean historical drama. This setting is no doubt about ancient China. You should look up for some information first before assuming whoever against your little knowledge about ancient korea was an ass
I'm inclined not to believe in any personal info given out online since anyone can lie on the internet. Until this story elaborates where this place is, we shouldn't assume it's Ancient China. Maybe it's an Southeast/East Asian fusion in a fantasy setting where it doesn't have to be historically accurate when the country is in entirely different world.
I don't have any problem with the art style though. It's amazing. What annoyed me was the world building. Base on the costumes, this webtoon has ancient China background, and the particular costume which the ML was wearing was of the emperor (not king of any vassal kingdom, but emperor). However, aside from costume, everything went wrong. The way they acted, the gestures, attitudes, everything heavily implied a Western style regime. This setting suits a western landlord more than an ancient chinese emperor. I thought some authors finally tried a different setting once in a while but this half assed world building turned me off immediately
