I haven't even managed to read the novel yet but I don't hate him, too. See, when you're not constantly out there for blood and take time to be in other's shoes, you won't be narrow minded.

But honestly, in my opinion, he made a mistake. Even if he loved her, that doesn't change my opinion, and honestly, I'd hate him more for it.
I don't really care if they get together tbh. Some honest and apologetic discussion should happen from ml to mc should happen before that though.

They actually do have a good talk about what happened between them, and forgive each other. From what I understand she didn’t let him transfer her to the monastery because she knew that the citizens would never be satisfied with sparing her life so she confessed to crimes she didn’t commit therefore forcing him to execute her. He apologizes for manipulating her she apologizes for forcing his hand blah blah blah all is forgiven
