Or, it could simply be because Leslie's arms still hadn't fully healed. The thing on the new mom's face apparently was in the middle of a battle, so maybe she couldn't get to a healer before her own superhuman recovery rate healed it on its own? Or yeah, maybe it was a curse. Who knows
