I'm french and I listen to a podcast (The Boy's Club) about men and their masculinity, how they feel being a man, what does it mean to them etc.. AND some of the guys interviewed have indeed jerked off WITH friends (also men) in a totally no gay way. Usually it happened during a party or it's to see who will come first. They don't jerk off each other though (too gay for them I think). Idk about japanese teenagers but maybe they take the jerk off with friends thing more.. seriously ? kkk
