Hahaha no. I have re read it tons of times! You just have to realllly look at the small things!!! Everything is important. Since Eric/one was both human and vampire. The vampires+ humans thought he was a dangee and shit. So he and shell faked his own death so they all can be at peace. Eric is perfectly fine only with a scar on his eye!!
