Seugntaek was not homophobic he was bullied by inbeom so he did it. Inbeom even kissed him while making him unconscious. So this is abuse.

SUMMARY: Inbeom taunted/picked on Seungtaek till he snapped and beat him up, but got carried away. Later Inbeom got his “revenge” by knocking Seungtaek unconscious using a helmet and leaving him in the alleyway. Inbeom then took some boy’s phone to force the boy to bring Seungtaek to him. After he beats up Seungtaek, he hints that he likes Seungtaek (saying he got jealous when he saw Kyubin with Seungtaek) and kisses him without consent. Seungtaek is disgusted—I mean, who wouldn’t be, when the bully you hate suddenly kisses you—and so beats him up, getting carried away again.
But yeah it may be due partially to internalized homophobia since even though Seungtaek clearly likes Kyubin, he rejects Kyubin. Anyway Inbeom didn’t drop out of school. He went back to the countryside to be with his mother, what he always wanted, and studied at some school there.
Later he got anxious because he couldn’t remember the person he liked (Seungtaek), so he dropped out since he found school boring anyway, and came back to live with Suhyeok in the city. He voluntarily didn’t go back to school and instead went to work. Seungtaek’s beating gave him temporary amnesia—iirc he got back all memories in a short time but the memories related to Seungtaek never came back even after a year. (Probably because he repressed them or something.)
*Inbeom didn’t drop out of school BECAUSE of how badly Seungtaek beat him up. He lost his memories for a short time but other than that nothing was affected. He dropped out of his own volition.

He wasn't the homophobe, Inbeom was the homophobic bully piece of shit, who was bullying Sungtaek because he was hanging out with Kyubin. Then Inbeom stalked him, beat him unconscious and sexually assaulted him because Sungtaek humiliated him for being a bully. Inbeom is a creepy crack head bully sack of shit who can fuck off for all I care.
