I wanted to answer to the post that brought up Taku's interview introduction and words to Haesoo as argument to say that he looks shady... it seems the post was downvoted into deletion.
Taku replying about his dating style : " I don't have one. Meeting someone, dating ... it all starts and ends pretty much the same way" then he goes on to make the comparison "Like a jar filled with candies in their colorful papers. The colors, scents and flavors may all be slightly different... but once you unwrap and put it in your mouth, it's just sugar and additives, it all melts away"
What is the author telling us about Taku? Taku is describing an uneventful romantic life. He has never fallen in love before, he has no emotional baggage, he had his fair share of lovers but no one who left a mark. More to it and based to his laid back attitude about letting Haesoo use him... Taku apparently doesn't expect to fall in love with anyone soon. He is interested, he likes Haesoo but his previous experiences with the same kind of feeling makes him approach Haesoo as the next erotic, beautiful thing that is intriguing him right now.
This author is masterful. Taku unwrapping the lollipop after they spent the night together and his pensive face... what is he feeling? maybe the first inkling that this 'candy' is not like the others? That this one won't melt away?

The second thing is Taku saying to Haesoo that 'You can use me, I actually prefer this way'. Also the very beginning of their thing. Haesoo is teasing Taku in the car. He is annoyed that he can't decipher Taku & his way of flirting. He tries to get the upper hand and get Taku to be uncomfortable or at least play the same game he is so used to with Joowon... and starts saying that if Taku wants to fuck him, just say it, that he must know that Haesoo is easy (after reading his stories). And of course Haesoo is not prepared for Taku's blunt answer: "I know ...the kind of person you are. You can use me if you want. In fact I'd prefer that way"... Now, we can guess what Taku was referring here with 'I know the kind of person you are' ... maybe Taku sees through Haesoo and knows he is the kind of person who uses sex to numb pain or he knows Haesoo way of life is manipulation seduction but either way Taku is flirting with someone he is interested in ... but not necessary is thinking this will be any different from other people he got involved with ... and the 'prefer this way' is about Taku keeping things honest between them instead of engaging in the type of manipulation game that Haesoo is so used to.

Last but not least, if you dislike Taku only for the fact that he is rival to Joowon, using these initial words from Taku as a way to make Joowon look better only backfires because compare Joowon's introduction ... his words are not even open for interpretation. He brags about being a giant asshole to his lovers, he sees them as prey. In Taku's case, Haesoo is not part of his life yet so he is not talking from a pov from a man in love with anyone yet ... but Joowon? This is man carrying on a relationship with someone for years and his predator/prey view of it is even worse when we know that Joowon is the dominant/controlling side of their dynamic.

This story is not only about Joowon and Haesoo individual development that will make them fall apart or fix for once what they have. Taku is also a character that will get development and his major development is that he will end up falling in love with Haesoo even if he didn't plan to when he offered to be 'used'.

Wow. This is so beautifully written. I haven't really seen Taku's statement in this perspective.
