Sanada isn't a scumbag. It looks like he just freaked out when he realized he liked Itanaga in a sexual way, lashed out and regretted it afterwards. The comic ends up pretty fluffy with a couple of dramatic moments (that are needed cuz these two have conversations that need to be had), but overall seems to resolve well. :)
