First, what I am saying is not about the blackmailing. My main point is “trust” and “relationship”, not even directly related to the blackmailing. What I’m trying to convey is that if Saeyeon did say something about her financial situation to Jaehyun, at least it would have shown her trust to Jaehyun. However, she didn’t. Trust is an important aspect in a couple. Besides, in the end, she did cooperate with Jungwoo to completely frame Jaehyun. It’s kinda obvious that she does have affectionate feelings to Jaehyun but not so much. Even if she was in trouble, she dragged someone into trouble as well, causing a mental trauma towards Jaehyun. As much as her actions of “choosing herself over her boyfriend” are reasonable and realistic, this manhwa is still fictional so I’m quite intolerant with her behaviour, probably because I’m biased to Jaehyun cuz I know his situation more than Saeyeon. Saeyeon’s situation is like “I like(?)him but I have no other choice, I need money so I’m just gonna frame him as a scum in high school, not caring too much about the consequences and be guilty over it for the rest of my life, just mainly cuz of money”. But if you really want me to relate blackmail to this, then I’ll talk about how money’s also the main thing here and the second point of why their relationship wouldn’t last long. We don’t know much about Jaehyun’s financial situation but I’m just gonna guess that he’s from a moderate family while Saeyeon’s from a poor(?) family. There’s a possibility that the woman who was in the accident is probably the breadwinner tho there’s a probability that she’s not. Like you said, there’s a high possibility that Jaehyun wouldn’t be able to do much if Saeyeon did talk about her financial situation tho I can’t really predict Jaehyun’s actions cuz he’s kinda the “righteous person with not high morals but still righteous.” But what I’m saying is for Saeyeon to talk and discuss with Jaehyun on her situation and if they really had to breakup, they’d still be able to part ways in good feelings. Literally Saeyeon didn’t trust Jaehyun enough to confide with him about her situation so that they could work it out together. I know that if Saeyeon did say something about her financial situation, it wouldn’t do much but at least it showed her trust to Jaehyun. And I know there’s a possibility that if Saeyeon mentioned about the deal with Jungwoo to Jaehyun, there could be a backlash like Jaehyun not trusting her cuz of Jungwoo being her best friend but there would at least be some doubt about Jungwoo in Jaehyun.
