I find it funny, in most stories I read where one character has to choose between two others, the commenters all shout "WHY CHOOSE? JUST GO WITH BOTH!!" In this one, he actually *does* choose both, and the commenters are all up in arms about how the uke is so selfish and self-centered. Like, they're all happy and content with their relationship, what's there to be triggered about? Polyamory comes in different shapes and sizes, it's not a one-size-fits-all deal. In some, all parties love each other. In others, they don't and are only dating one of the others involved. I personally know a couple (thrupple?) like that. The wife is married to her husband and is also dating a girlfriend, but the husband is not dating the wife's girlfriend. It works, and they're super happy with it. That seems to be a similar case to here; Sakai is dating both (despite how they label it) Nishimura and Kitada, but Kitada and Nishimura don't really have much to do with each other. All parties are legal adults (at least 26) and are perfectly content with how things are working for them. Will that be a forever thing? Will they always be content with this? Who knows. But the same thing can be said for a 'normal' two-person couple. Will it always work out? Will it last forever? More often than not, no, it doesn't and they get divorced. But does that mean they didn't love each other for that time, or that they should never have gotten married? Honestly, that's only up for them to say. Slice it up however you want, we (the commenters) are just spectators, on-lookers, with no power to say what's wrong or right in their relationship, or what would make them happy. Nobody was being left out, nobody was unhappy, so why should we be?
