I'm not saying that all fujoshis are like this, just trying to provide some insight. Liking gay anime boys can be fetishizing gay men, especially for the fujoshis who see gay men as just sexual objects they enjoy rather than as people in love with those of the same gender. It may be fictional but that's exactly why its fetishization. Some bad apples DO fetishize gay men which spoils the rest of bunch. If you view gay men as regular people with actual value other than being gay, you're fine. Dont worry about what other people say, theres always going to be grouping bad apples with the rest of the bunch.

^^ I agree with Arcana, here. Liking yaoi is just an interest, but a person will draw the line if they start fetishizing real gay men and treating them as toys only for your perverted entertainment. (Ex: I once met a girl who said that she's sinning everytime she sees a gay couple. I hated her.) You seem like you only keep yaoi as a fictional interest, so I think that you're good.

im a fujoshi also but ill never fantasize real gay men. theyre real people ffs. cant believe some people actually do it though :/ had a friend like that once :// my gay friend and i quit being friends with her, she kept annoying my gay friend and his boyfriend too much.

I like yaoi because I exclusively like to see only men naked and panting, I like only men, for me seeing woman in the same situation is unconfortable, besides the histories in yaoi have a wide variety from where you can choose also I heve never imagine the men in the street together in those situations ╮(￣▽￣)╭

I have to wonder when people who group us together like this are going to take a step back and realize not all of us who read yaoi are the same. I've been actively reading yaoi since November because people like that made me feel guilty for enjoying it. Now I just want to ignore those who have a problem with what I read. I'm not hurting anyone. I'm not fetishisting irl gay men. I want to be left alone to read yaoi in peace.
