Yeah, I was also hoping my theory is wrong because i want them to be together and that their break up is just because of a stupid reason, not because they're not in love with each other anymore. Thank you for pointing out why my theory maybe wrong (⌒▽⌒)
What if this was all just his imagination where his mind makes him see all these hallucination of Candy younger versions to see how happy they were and what went wrong. In order for the main character to know the reason that they broke up so he can have closure or so that he knows why they broke up and tried to fix their relationship. ╮(￣▽￣)╭.
